Lullaby Project

Frederick County spotlights the Lullaby Project offered by the BCGS.

The Lullaby Project is a program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute.

ANNAPOLIS I (2022)

During the pilot Lullaby Project, (Annapolis I) we paired teen-moms with Grammy-winning songwriters Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, and together they wrote personal lullabies for the babies. The pilot program took place in Annapolis, MD, in collaboration with Annapolis High School and Maryland Hall, with support from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

In the spring of 2023, we conducted three Lullaby Projects:

ANNAPOLIS II: A second Lullaby Project for teen mothers in Annapolis, this time in collaboration with Annapolis High School and Annapolis Family Support Center.

ESSEX: A Lullaby Project for immigrant and refugee mothers in Essex in collaboration with Center for Family Success.

OWINGS MILLS: A Lullaby Project for low-income seniors at Weinberg Village in collaboration with Iris Music Project.

The 2023 Lullaby Projects were made possible with support from The National Endowment for the Arts, The Citizens of Baltimore County, Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, and our members and donors. Thank you.
