Manuel Barrueco’s unique artistry has been described as that of a superb instrumentalist and a superior and elegant musician, possessing a seductive sound and uncommon lyrical gifts.
Now, the classical guitar legend and mentor to Peabody’s most talented guitar students will open our 30th Anniversary Season with a program dedicated to “The Spanish Guitar” – Saturday evening, October 28 at 8 p.m. at Towson’s Kaplan Hall. Manuel will perform pieces by Fernando Sor, Granados, and Falla.
“It’s music that is close to me. I’ve been playing this music since I was kid,” says Manuel. “It brings out the best of the instrument. The voice of the guitar has a Spanish accent!”
