Grammy-nominated lutenist Ronn McFarlane will give an online class – a lecture and demonstration – via Zoom on Sunday, February 28, from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM.  This is the 2nd of two classes he will give this season.

In this lute “show-and-tell”, Ronn traces the 800 year history of the lute – the most popular instrument of the Renaissance – its evolution, its music, and its place in popular culture.  The lute’s relation to the guitar, and ways to approach lute music on the modern guitar, will be considered.  Ronn will also play musical examples from the Middle Ages through the present.

There are limited spots available so please sign up early.

Our classes are free to attend, but they cost money to produce. If you are not a BCGS member, you are still welcome to register and attend, but we would like to ask that you please consider donating a few dollars to the BCGS or to buy a membership which is $25 for the whole year (September-August) at the basic level: https://www.bcgs.org/product/bcgs-membership/
