Teacher: Deborah White-Bondhus, pianist
Deborah White-Bondhus has operated at piano and music theory studio in Laurel and Columbia for the past 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Piano Performance and Education. She previously taught for the Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Arch-Diocese of Washington. Her studio, is located in Columbia and has a separate computer theory lab for the use of the students. Her students enjoy a wide variety of opportunities, including, piano performance, competitions, festivals, in-house theory classes and recitals, composition, improvisation, outreach recitals and church performances.In addition to her teaching Ms. White-Bondhus is on the Board of Directors of Maryland State Music Teacher’s Association, past MSMTA Theory Chair, Vice-President of Publications, and GLMTA President and is currently the Vice-President of Greater MTA.
Ms. Bondhus is currently directing the junior choir at Oakridge Community Church.

I've been playing guitar since I was nine and piano since I was fifteen. I studied with numerous private instructors and at Towson University. My most influential classical guitar teachers included Ray Chester and Franco Platino. Among my jazz instructors were Ed Stringer, Gus Harris, Hank Levy, and Greg Hatza.I teach classical and jazz guitar. I also teach bass and piano, as well as music theory and arranging utilizing the latest PC technology. I see between 40 and 50 students a week and welcome all ages and experience levels.

Performer: Duane Large
Duane Large is active as a performer in nearly every style of music on guitar, mandolin, lute, bass, piano, drums and cavoquinho in both the United States and Europe. He is also an educator and a scholar. He has appeared with such groups as The Philadelphia Orchestra, Temple Orchestra, The Royal Ballet and The Pennsylvania Ballet for which he was the mandolin soloist for Stravinsky’s Agon in 2004. Duane has performed in several cities in the US including, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York, New Haven, Boston, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, and New Orleans. He has also worked closely with local Philadelphia groups including, Orchestra 2001 in 2005 for Tan Dun’sCircle of Trios; Germantown Friends Choir in 2008 for a tour of southern American cities; and playing lute with Quidditas in 2008 with curator of the Fleisher collection, Kile Smith.[more info]

Ben Sherman is a classically trained, professional guitarist, with over 20 years of experience providing music for weddings, receptions, corporate and special events, in Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Pennsylvania.Ben has performed thousands of gigs over the years in a broad variety of styles. His professional activities also include a full-time teaching schedule and a recording career, having produced three CDs. Ben has been honored many times for his achievements on the guitar, including a feature in Guitar Player magazine and winning Best Instrumental Musician in the Music Monthly Readers' Poll.
