INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION WINNERS SHARING A CONCERT!

Rafael Aguirre

Born in 1984, award-winning Spanish artist Rafael Aguirre is one of today’s most celebrated young guitarists. His 13 first prizes at the world’s most prestigious international competitions - a Spanish record - highlight the praise of international audiences and specialized critics alike. Having performed in 18 countries, recent highlights include Carnegie Hall (NY)Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow)Palau de la Musica (Valencia), and Glinka Hall (St. Petersburg). Composers such as Daniel Real and Sergio Assad have dedicated pieces to him. An associate professor at the Robert Schumann conservatory, he collaborated with orchestras such as the Baden Baden Philharmonic, Malaga Philharmonic, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen and the Syrian National Orchestra.
 
Petrit Ceku
Born in 1985 in Prizren, Kosovo, Petrit Çeku has won top prizes in a number of international competitions. Among them first price in the All-Croatian Competition in Dubrovnik in 2003; Anna Amalia in Weimar, Germany; Emilio Pujol in Sassari, Italy, and Andrés Segovia in Velbert, Germany. By winning the Pittaluga Competition in Alessandria, Italy, Petrit Çeku established himself as one of the leading guitarists of the young generation. In 2008, he was awarded the The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra Prize as The Best Young Musician of the Year, and his first solo CD was released on the Naxos label.
           
Mr. Ceku performs regularly with symphony orchestras as well as in chamber music setting with various musicians. This coming season he will tour Russia with the Zagreb Soloists, and he will play solo recitals in the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Canada, Croatia, and in the United States.
