Artist-in-Residence

The Artist-in-Residence program brings an outstanding guitarist to local schools, institutions, and community centers, to share their artistry with students and ensembles in master classes, workshops, group classes, and with lecture/demonstrations, free of cost to the schools.

If you are a music teacher in a Maryland high school, a guitar teacher at a community center or a senior center, and are interested in having Meng Su visit your program, please contact us here.

And if you are a music lover and would like to attend one of the events, we will post the BCGS-AIR activity on our website under “Events in the Area” as they become available.

The BCGS-AIR for 2022-2024 is Andres Felipe Palacios (Colombia).

Nothing is more meaningful to me than using my art to positively impact the lives of others. I feel fortunate to be the artist-in-residence, as it allows me to employ music as a sensitizing element for the community. Thank you to the invaluable Baltimore Classical Guitar Society for this opportunity. Andres Felipe Palacios

BCGS-AIR 2019-2022:

I’m honored to be the Artist-In-Residence for the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society. I believe strongly that we artists need to be involved with our communities; it inspires and nurtures our artistry, and personally it gives me great pleasure to share my music with music lovers young and old in my community.Meng Su

This program is made possible by Turner and Judy Smith and the Cape Foundation, and the Maryland State Arts Council. Thank you.
